Internal zoom combines reliability with stability
An internal zoom provides stability by minimizing changes to the center of gravity while shooting. Reliable autofocus tracking and vibration compensation are essential in a telephoto zoom lens. Tamron’s Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) system on this lens strikes a balance between both. It includes two dedicated MPUs: one for lens system control including AF, and the other for vibration compensation processing. Each MPU is equipped with a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) block with high signal processing for exceptional AF performance and vibration compensation effects.

Optional tripod mount with Arca Swiss-compatible quick-release plate
An optional tripod mount compatible with Arca-Swiss style quick release plates is available for the A034. Arca-Swiss style mounts can be easily attached and detached and are renowned for their excellent stability. In keeping with the lightweight nature of this zoom lens, the tripod mount is made of a light yet robust magnesium alloy to support you in a wide range of photographic conditions—like shooting at a slow shutter speed. Using a tripod makes the lens more stable, as opposed to attaching a tripod to a camera body to prevent blurred images. And since this tripod mount allows the camera body to rotate freely without moving its axis, adjusting composition is easy.
